‘THE PHASA POINT’ Single Head Plastic Assembly Tool

Compact new unit for Press or Robot mounted Hot Air Staking applications

‘PHASA Point’, a brand new "one piece" single head, automatic plastic hot air assembly module is the latest addition to PHASA Developments’ extensive range of assembly systems for thermoplastic mouldings and components.

Designed for mounting within a simple press or part of a manufacturing robot, this new unit is suitable for producing permanent vibration resistant fixings in large or bulky assemblies and is easily integrated as part of a fully automated manufacturing or assembly line installation.

Like all other PHASA systems, the new ‘PHASA Point’ staker employs the principle of controlled heating of pre-moulded pegs, ribs or collars - so that they can be re-shaped, clamped and subsequently cooled into new forms. The process is typically used for the production of simple rivet head applications across all sectors of manufacturing industry.

The new single head unit features, quick interchangeable forming tools to enable all common blade, rod and tubular stakes to be processed from 1.5 mm to 10 mm diameter.

Patent protection has been applied to the equipment’s compact head design, which houses all system functions and connects to the unit’s remote process control unit by way of an umbilical service cable.

‘PHASA Point’ stakers can be employed singly, or mounted in-groups on modular frames to combine maximum production flexibility with the highest levels of quality and reliability. Process capability studies on PHASA systems regularly produce Cpk figures in excess of 2.0 - the equivalent of less than one reject part per million operations. As a result, the new single head staker will be suitable for applications across the widest section of the Plastics manufacturing industry; from safety critical automotive assemblies, IT equipment and domestic appliance sectors, to toys and security equipment products.
